Christians: how do you reconcile the loving Jesus with his support of the Old Testament?

He is referring to the Roman Catholic Church and all it's traditions. Idolatry, Mary the Queen of Heaven,bowing down to graven images, praying to men,"holy fathers",hiding the Bible from people in the Dark Ages, the Inquisitions, purgatory, selling passes to Heaven, etc,etc. Not biblical and not Christian.
