How do religious scientists reconcile creationism and evolution in their beliefs?

They don't. Most religious people are not creationists. Essentially all scientists accept evolution. Most people have no problem believing that God would have allowed His laws of physics to create humanity just as He allows ordinary human beings to create new human beings.
