Why do people not like washington state?

I live in tennessee, and I love the forestry and fields. But haven't lived near an ocean in many years since I was in elementary.(hawaii and Nc..) I was watching americas got talent (fav show, ever (: ) in seattle wa, and the people seemed like they hated it there.
